Dear SCC & Friends,

Love never fails… ~1 Corinthians 13:8

Update #83

God will never love you more than He does at this very moment. In fact, He loved us while we were yet sinners… before we acknowledged His existence or gave credence to His place in our lives. But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved)…~Eph. 2:4-5 I have fond memories of “tucking my kids in” when they were little… Special times of questions, wonder and curiosity… I often asked them, “Why do I love you so much?” It didn’t take long for them to catch on…They knew the right answer and would look up at me and simply say, “You just do!” “What? Do I love you more if you get straight A’s or make the “All Star team?” “Nope.” “Why not?” “Because you just love us.” The Lord has that same heart for you and me but to a greater degree than we can imagine. Why does He love us (me)? He just does! For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. ~Rom. 8:38-39

Perhaps the most underrated revelation for a Christian is to know and believe that God personally loves them. The truth is that we love because He first loved us.~1 Jn. 4:19 Just as the Father has loved Me, I have also loved you; abide in My love. ~Jn. 15:9 God does not love us because “we’re good.” He doesn’t love sin, but He does love sinners …for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God… ~Rom. 3:23 …He loves us because He simply does. It’s settled that God loves us, but the bigger question in life is do we love God? If you love me, you will keep my commandments. ~Jn. 14:15 The Kingdom of God is the only kingdom that commands its subjects to love. A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you… By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another. ~Jn. 13:34-35 We are clay in the Potter’s hands. His grace is sufficient… His love never fails! Keep up the good work!

God is love,

Kevin
