Weekly Reflection from Pastor Kevin 12/27/23

Dear SCC & Friends,

…An appointed time… ~Ecclesiastes 3:1

Reflection #199

God never made a promise that was too good to be true. ~D.L. Moody~ His timing is one of the great mysteries of life. All too often, it is only in retrospect that we see the wisdom of God’s timing. The Lord is never too early or too late. What seems like a delay is only a delay to us but not to Him. There are no circumstances of any kind that catch Him off guard or by surprise… I know that everything God does will remain forever; there is nothing to add to it and there is nothing to take from it… That which is has been already, and that which will be has already been, for God seeks what has passed by. ~Ecc. 3:14-15 He oversees it all… past, present and future and immutably is the same yesterday, today and forever… God has a unique way of keeping time… Do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. ~2 Pet. 3:8 …Selah…

My times are in Your hands… ~Ps. 31:15 This New Year of 2024 is going to be filled with the issues of life… whether we ascend to new heights or find ourselves in distressing lows… be it blessed prosperity or painful adversity… major breakthroughs or unexpected detours… He is with us at all times, in all places. God is not bound by time like we are. I believe that God will give us all the strength we need to help us resist in times of distress. But He never gives it in advance, lest we should rely on ourselves and not on Him alone. ~Dietrich Bonhoeffer~ He calls us to walk by faith, not sight… And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him. ~Heb. 11:6 The present is the only time which any duty may be done, and grace received. ~C.S. Lewis~ May it all be for His glory and honor… Keep up the good work!

The best is yet to come,

Kevin
