SCC Covid-19 Update 4/15/20

April 15, 2020

Dear SCC & Friends,

Update #6

It’s been six weeks since we started quarantines, social distancing and generally relegated to being homebound. The local, regional, national and international impact of COVID-19 is still before us, but we do have reason to be encouraged…not the least of which is the Lord is by our side.

The steps of a man are established by the Lord; and He delights in his way, when he falls, he shall not be hurled headlong; because the Lord is the One who holds his hand. I have been young, and now I am old; yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, or his descendants begging bread. ~Ps. 37:23-25

I wanted to take this opportunity to thank each of you for your faithfulness to the Lord through your tithes and offerings. We have added another option for giving, a PayPal account, which can be accessed on our website (www.saddlebackcovenant.com). We can still use regular mail, Bill Pay or stop by the church office during business hours. Mike Spinello is hosting an SCC Instagram account, which will be another avenue to stay current and connected. All of your “Easter” greetings can be found at “Saddleback Covenant Church.” Special thanks to Ethan Pierce and Bill Mahlstadt who have worked tirelessly with me and our worship team to bring the weekly video podcast. Also, let’s maintain special prayer for nurses Alanna Bretzmann, Susie Hale, and Laura Williams who are on the front lines at three area hospitals.

I often think of how the Lord puts us in circumstances that could only come from Him…Noah building an ark when it had never rained…Abraham and Sarah, big promises yet barren until old age…Esther, the beautiful queen who risked it all, knowing she was made for such a time as this. Pick any man or woman in the Scriptures, and we’ll see their problems, promises and God’s provision. Obstacles are the hurdles between vision and reality. We, too, were made for such a time as this! Yes, we were made for 2020 and beyond! May His love and grace sustain and strengthen you…The glass is half full, and Aslan is on the move!

                                                                        Yours in His love,

                                                                        Kevin
