Coronavirus Update

Coronavirus Update

Dear SCC & friends,

May you be filled with peace and the certain knowledge that the Lord is in our midst. I am sure that by now you know about the unprecedented measures that are underway to curb the spread of the  Coronavirus. I am not going to use this e-mail to reiterate what practical steps should be taken other than to ask all of us to do our absolute best to cooperate, follow guidelines, be smart, and trust. Corrie Ten Boom, Holocaust survivor, “ Never be afraid to trust an unknown future to a known God.” …and He UPHOLDS all things by the word of His power. Heb.1:3.

The government and health community at large has asked us to do whatever we can to help isolate the spread of the virus. Even though these are challenging days I pray our response not be fear or panic, but faith, hope and love. The fearful flee when no one is pursuing but the righteous are as bold (confident ) as a lion. PR.28:1  Both by prayer and consultation we have made the following decisions realizing what we presently know is fluid and could change.

                                  1)  We have canceled Sunday services for the immediate future. My hope is we will all be together for Easter which is on April 12.   Nearly all the churches and schools in our area have canceled normal and customary gatherings.  I will have more to say next week but wanted to get this update to you.

                                    2) In concert with Erica Norton, we have canceled the women’s retreat scheduled for March27-29. The ladies bible study will continue for one more week.

                                    3) I am going to be working with our tech people to use our podcast and develop live stream video capability.. I expect that to be up and running by next week.

                                    4) In concert with David and Courtney Junior High & High School meetings are canceled until further notice.

                                    5) Lorrie will keep office hours until further notice. Also, tithes and offerings should be sent to church address..23401 Madero, Ste. A Mission Viejo, Ca. 92691.

Thank you for your understanding and faithfulness.  This season will eventually pass…We will be staying in touch through phone, email, text etc. and seeing each other in smaller settings.

Yours in Christ love and grace,

Kevin
