Weekly Reflection from Pastor Kevin 8/20/25

Dear SCC & Friends,

Trust in the Lord… ~Psalm 37:3

Reflection #285

There are lots of things in this life that we don’t understand. If we did understand everything, would that make for a better life? Probably not… The truth is when “God is wrong, He is right.” He alone holds the title deed to all creation. He alone is both the Creator and Sustainer of all things and forever the uncaused first cause… “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.” ~Rev. 1:8 Trust is the basis of all good relationships and may be defined as a firm belief in the reliability, truth, ability or strength of someone or something. Trust as an entity can be earned or lost, damaged or repaired, withheld or freely given. The best thing we will ever do in this life is to put our trust in God. Never be afraid to trust a known God to an unknown future. ~Corrie Ten Boom~ Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don’t try to figure out everything on your own. Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; he’s the one who will keep you on track. ~Prov. 3:5-6 MSG

It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man. ~Ps. 118:8 The riddles of God are more satisfying than the answers of man. ~G.K. Chesterton~ Life is not perfect, and at some point all of us have had a trust violated, but never by God who is forever faithful and all together trustworthy. Let God be true and every man a liar. ~Rom. 3:4 Thank God for God who heals and restores our soul as only He can. There is nothing beyond His redemptive hand. He calls us to trust and obey, which not only blesses, but assures fruitfulness throughout our lives. Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord and whose trust is the Lord. For he will be like a tree planted by the water, that extends its roots by a stream and will not fear when the heat comes; but its leaves will be green, and it will not be anxious in a year of drought nor cease to yield fruit. ~Jer. 17:7-8 We were made for these days… Keep up the good work!

                                                                           He is trustworthy,
